UP government ties up with Natco group to hold job fairs keeping in mind employment creation

As part of its endeavor to provide employment to scores of jobless youths, the state government has tied up with Natco group which organizes job fairs across the country to hold a similar one in the state. The Department of Employment and Training in association with Natco Training Pvt Ltd, would be organising a job fair in Kanpur at the State Regional Employment Exchange office premises from 5 to 11 August, in which large number of private sector companies and some PSU''s would interview youths and make job offers.

The latest effort comes within months of the government deciding to scrap its pet Unemployment Allowance scheme in which jobless youth were offered a dole of Rs 1,000 per month. Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav had then said that the government would instead work towards creating more jobs for the youth and start a pension scheme for economically weaker sections of the society.

The job fair called "Naukri Mahakumbh" would be inaugurated by Director of Employment, Anil Kumar. MD of Natco Training Pvt Ltd (NTPL), Vinayak Nath said that they have previously organized similar job fairs for the Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Uttarakhand governments and helped place more than 5,000 people this year alone.

Nath said that they have received confirmation from 29 big corporates who would be participating in the fair and about 10,000 youths had registered themselves for the job fair.

Among those who have confirmed participation according to Nath are Pizza Hut, KFC, Vangoo, Masala Twist, Costa Coffee, LIC, SIS, Aviva Life Insurance, Reliance Life Insurance, AV Services Pvt Ltd, Rehman Industries Ltd, Shivshakti Biotechnology Ltd, Shriram Life Insurance, Security Skill Counseling India Ltd, Star Health and Allied Insurance Company, Mayur Mann International Pvt Ltd, Pratisha International, Pizza Delight, State Bank of India Life Insurance, Eureka Forbes, ING Vaishya Life Insurance, LML Ltd, Matrix Clothing Pvt Ltd, and Welspun India Ltd.

Nath said that most of the companies would a written test followed by group discussions and personal interviews before making job offers. He said that they were hopeful of placing large number of students at the end of the six day long fair.
